A timeline of major events
August 2017
Bedford College and Tresham College formally merged on 1 August 2017 to form The Bedford College Group, expanding the Group's provision across Northamptonshire to campuses in Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough.
September 2012
The Bedford Sixth Form opened its doors in September 2012. Set within the magnificent former Harpur Trust location on Bromham Road, it offers modern resources and facilities in a beautiful Victorian building. Five years on the Sixth Form is one of the largest A-Level centres in the area.
August 2009
In August 2009, Shuttleworth College became part of Bedford College. Set within the stunning location of Old Warden in Biggleswade, the provision was expanded with an exciting range of land-based courses, making full use of the natural resources available such as parkland, a farm, lakes and woodland.
April 1992
After achieving independent status from local education authorities, Bedford College was formed as a Further Education Institute to concentrate on provision within this sector, remaining at its original home at Cauldwell Street.
